About us

“If you don’t follow your dreams, you might as well be a vegetable!”
Burt Munro in “The world’s fastest Indian”.

When travelling to New Zealand and Australia for the first time about 15 years ago, we – born and bred in Switzerland – immediately fell in love with both countries. We kept going back and have spent more than 3 years Down Under on several trips so far. In 2009 we got severely homesick for our antipodes again and decided to quit our jobs and our apartment as we did before. Our intention is to spend a couple of years travelling and then return to Switzerland.

Both of us like hiking and photography and we love our fly fishing. New Zealand is a fly fisher’s paradise and we always feel like being in heaven when in the land of the long white cloud. Over the years we’ve experienced some outstanding fishing and even though there is not a trophy trout to be caught every day, the scenery and the endless number of crystal clear creeks, rivers and lakes available to everyone make it a dream come true.

Australia is another story altogether. The sheer size and diversity of the country, it’s unique flora and fauna and –again – the great fishing on offer in both, fresh- and saltwater, are amazing and fascinating.

It’s not only the countries themselves, but also their indigenous cultures and the very friendly people that make all the difference: We’ve found many dear friends on our trips and enjoy sharing their lifestyle very much indeed.

The intention of this website is to give our friends in Switzerland and Down Under and others the opportunity to keep in touch with us and to get the odd tip and idea for their own travels and adventures. Please send us an e-mail with a comment or a question; we are always happy to get in contact with you.
